NINE PLAYERS FROM ERZURUM GENÇLİK SPOR CLUB MAKE TURKISH 20U NATIONAL TEAM

There were 11 players represented from GSK at the 20U national Camp. Nine of eleven players made the team. TOLGA BAYBURTLU, EMRE FANER, FATİH FANER, Emin Savas, Huseyin Seçer, SEFA Kavaz, ABDÜLKADİR İNANÇ, Ömer Kars and SeFa TaKar. Soner Özmen and MUHAMMED KARAGÜL were cut today from the National team. Both Soner and Muhammed were very young. They are both 16 years old. 

"I very happy for all our players of GSK for being selected to camp and for the nine players that made the team," said Keith McAdams, Head Coach GSK. "It been a very difficult year in Erzurum for hockey and shows the charter of the players."

"There no reason the Turkish National Team should not have success, said Keith McAdams, Head Coach of GSK. "Turkey has the now the best defense in the group and good goaltenders." GSK has ten players attending camp in Ismir starting December 28, 2013. The 2014 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship will take place in Izmir between January 12 to 18, 2014.  The GSK has two goalie, four defenders and four forwards participating in camp.

• GSK won Turkish National Championship in 2012-13
• GSK won the final game of Championship 11-0
• The 18U team only allowed on average 8 shots per game in 2012-13
• The 18U GSK defense killed off 100% of opposition power plays in 2012-13
• The 18U GSK scored 16 shorthanded goals on the season
• GSK 18U team scored on 33% of there power players
• GSK 18U team was undefeated in 2012-13
• U14 Club has Won two Turkish Championships and Black Sea Cup
• U14 is undefeated in past two years

Coach Keith McAdams also coached  Firat Erden and Gokalp Solak who were selected to National Camp from Ankara. Both Erden and Solak have been members of the National Team since McAdams coached them with the Capitals.

Erzurum 7 Players U18 National Team

                      Ömer Kantar, SeFa TaKar, Sefa Kavaz, Fatih Faner, Emin Savas 
                      and Muhammet Karagül.  ABDÜLKADİR İNANÇ missing from photo.

Turkey beat Ireland 10-2 to finish third out four teams at the 18 World Championships in Ismr Turkey. Every player from GSK played well at the World Championship.Fatih Faner  established himself as one the best defenders in Turkey at the young age15 years old. Abdulkadir İnanc who is a forward, played forward and defense in the tournament.   İnanc has made it clear he is the best two way forward in Turkey.  Fatih Faner,  Ömer Kantar, SeFa TaKar,  Sefa Kavaz, Emin Savas and Muhammed Karagul all have two more years of eligibility for club.

In last night game Fatih Fane and Abdulkadir İnanc had a goal and assist.   Sefa Kavaz, had a goal and Sefa TaKar had an assist.

Israel beat Turkey 6-1 today at the 18 World Championships in Ismr Turkey. Erzurum forward Kadir Inan scored the only goal for Turkey. South Africa defeated Turkey Friday night 5-2. 

Congratulation to the following  Erzurum Gençlikspor  Players Who Made the  18U Turkish National Team. "Every player from GSK who was eligible for National teams have made the clubs," said "Keith Mcadams Head Coach of Erzurum Gençlikspor. " I am very proud of all the players that made U16, U17, U18 and U20 Teams."

The TBHF announce the 17 Under National team will play  in Turkmenistan on  February 10 to 18 2013. Erzurum Genclick Sports Club had eight players selected to National Camp. Six players were name to Turkish U17 National Team from ERZURUM YOUTH SPORTS CLUB but Head Coach  Keith McAdams said, "he was disappointed with the results. I think we five to seven more players who deserve to be on the club. Our players are young, but they are the best in Turkey right now."


Not Listed: Kadir Inan ERZ. GENÇLİK S.K     Kadir will play U20, U18 and U17 Teams.

"There were only 6 players from Erzurum Gençlikspor who were not nominated for a TBHF program", said Keith McAdams head coach of Gençlikspor. " We have 6 other players who are the best in Turkey, said McAdams.  Fatih Taygar, Burak, Yusufcan Gürsoy, S'ait C'an and Emre Altunlu, Emre who are all to young to qualify for the teams. They will certainly play for the national team in future."
