Soner Özmen has played on two national championship for GSK. Last season Soner was selected to Turkish to U17 IIHF Development Team. ''Soner has great hands and the potential to be a great players,'' said Keith McAdams, head coach of GSK. "If Soner picks up his skating he can become one of the best players in Turkey."

GSK notified the TBHF, they will not take part in Super League this season. GSIM management cited, "the failure to pay travel cost from last season." GSK management said, "The TBHF made an unfair schedule. The TBHF scheduled only provided one home weekend and expects GSK to pay 80% of travel costs."

We asked Coach McAdams to comment on the problems in TBHF. "I will just say it's a big loss for Erzurum and Turkish Hockey,'' said Keith McAdams. "Anytime you lose a day of training it lost for ever. These players will never be able make up the loss of not playing in league.''

The TBHF will go ahead with the Super League with three teams.

Erzurum 7 Players U18 National Team

Turkey beat Ireland 10-2 to finish third out four teams at the 18 World Championships in Ismr Turkey. Every player from GSK played well at the World Championship.Fatih Faner  established himself as one the best defenders in Turkey at the young age15 years old. Abdulkadir İnanc who is a forward, played forward and defense in the tournament.   İnanc has made it clear he is the best two way forward in Turkey.  Fatih Faner,  Ömer Kantar, SeFa TaKar,  Sefa Kavaz, Emin Savas and Muhammed Karagul all have two more years of eligibility for club.

In last night game Fatih Fane and Abdulkadir İnanc had a goal and assist.   Sefa Kavaz, had a goal and Sefa TaKar had an assist.

Israel beat Turkey 6-1 today at the 18 World Championships in Ismr Turkey. Erzurum forward Kadir Inan scored the only goal for Turkey. South Africa defeated Turkey Friday night 5-2. 

Congratulation to the following  Erzurum Gençlikspor  Players Who Made the  18U Turkish National Team. "Every player from GSK who was eligible for National teams have made the clubs," said "Keith Mcadams Head Coach of Erzurum Gençlikspor. " I am very proud of all the players that made U16, U17, U18 and U20 Teams."

Erzurum Ministry of Youth & Sport  announced  Northeast Anatolia Development Agency will sponsor a 240 hour Coaching Symposium for local coaches. Erzurum Young Sports Club Coach Keith McAdams will be Director of the program. Keith McAdams in 2011-12 served as head coach of the Turkish Ice Hockey Federation Development Camps for 14U, 16U, and 17U. Keith served as Head Coach of the TBHF Coaching Educational Program in Erzurum in 2011-12. "I want to thank Northeast Anatolia Development Agency for this great opportunity to serve the coaches in the community, " said, Keith McAdams. "The City of Erzurum is leading the way for hockey education, development and culture exchange in Turkey."

National Championship Awards Ceremony 2010-11  

 GENÇLİK SPOR U14 leave today for Ankara to participate in National Championship Tournament. Last year GENÇLİK SPOR U14 won the silver medal.



"We expect great things from this club," Said Keith McAdams Head Coach . "This years the team has won the Group Championship, Turkish National Development Cup and the Black Sea Cup. Last year we played well. But we lost in the finals to Istanbul 2-1. It was only the second year of hockey in Erzurum, our club had problems with equipment, ice time and finding games. This year our club has experience and trained hard. The goal this season is to win the U14 National Champions of Turkey."



Notes:

This week Fellowship for Christian Athletes and GENÇLİK SPOR will participate  in a hockey school  June 14-18 in Erzuurm Turkey. The goal of the program is to develop hockey and friendships between Muslims and Christians Athletes.

The Turkish Ice Hockey Federation announced the schedule for U14 National Championship. The games will begin Tuesday June, 14, 2012. "We have high expectations for this club," said Keith McAdams Head Coach of ERZURUM GENÇLİK SPOR. "I believe we have the hardest working team in Turkey. İkram Çintimar is a great manager and facilitator of hockey in the city of Erzurum.  Yeliz Yuksel who is  Head Coach of NARMAN SPOR BAYAN TAKIMI and serves as an assistant coach for GENÇLİK SPOR CLUB, deserves a lot of credit for the work she is doing in Erzurum. This club deserves to be National Champions of Turkey."

Gençlikspor Bayan Buz Hokeyi Takımı Şampiyon

Gençlik Hizmetleri ve Spor İl Müdürlüğü tarafından düzenlenen Genç Bayanlar Buz Hokeyi İl Birinciliği Maçında Gençlikspor ile Buz Akademisi karşı karşıya geldi. ABD’li Antrenör Mc. Adams Keith ile İkram Çintimar’ın çalıştırdığı Erzurum Gençlikspor, Buz Hocki.

Gençlik Hizmetleri ve Spor İl Müdürlüğü tarafından düzenlenen Genç Bayanlar Buz Hokeyi İl Birinciliği Maçında Gençlikspor ile Buz Akademisi karşı karşıya geldi. ABD’li Antrenör Mc. Adams Keith ile İkram Çintimar’ın çalıştırdığı Erzurum Gençlikspor, Buz Hokeyi takımına gol yağdırdı. Maçı 10-0 kazanan Gençlikspor Bayan Buz Hokeyi takımı şampiyon oldu. Genç hokeyciler buz pistinde şampiyonluk coşkusu yaşadı.
