Black Sea Challenge Cup Ends With 4-2 Loss for Genclik Spor Club

Georgia National Team scored an open net goal in the last seconds of the game to win 4-2.  Genclik Spor Club won the Black Sea Challenge Cup with a record of 8 wins, 6 losses and 2 ties in the series.   The line of SeFa TaKa, Kadir Inan and Sefa Kavaz played another great game. The Junior players where plus two in the match.

"It been a great 16 game series against Georgia. Their team has finished strong and we wish them the best in  the World Championship Division III Qualification Tournament. Their coaches and players have done a great job over the last 18 days, " said Keith McAdams, coach for GENÇLİK SPOR CLUB. "We started this program in 2011, I think the Black Sea Program has been a great experience for both organizations. We have enjoyed working together with Georgia National Team, GIHF and Ice Knights Hockey Club . I believe the Black Sea Project has been a success for both countries.  We have some of the best young players in Turkey now. The Black Sea project has allowed us to develop those young players in Erzurum.  Genclik Spor Club has only had hockey for three years. Georgia started to rebuild their programs three years ago. It make sense for us to continue to work together."




Alparslan Bakanoğlu 19 years old was named Best Player in Tourney for Genclik Spor Club.





Sefa Kavaz 15 Years Old Has 10  Goals 6 Assists in Tourney.

Kadir Inan 17 years old had 3 and 15 Assists in Tourney.

SeFa TaKa 15 years old had 2 goals and 10 assists in Tourney.




Fatih Emin Faner  15 years old Defender had 2 goals and 4 Assists in the Tourney.

Huseyin Seçer 15 years old Defender had 3 goals and 4 Assists in the Tourney.

Tolga Bayburtlu has had a great tournament.


Muhammet Karagül continues to make steady progress over the past two seasons.








2011 Black Sea Cup Results

 

ERZURUM GENÇLİK SPOR SENIOR CLUB played 5 games in four days. The senior team won all 5 games. ERZURUM GENÇLİK won all four games against Georgian 6-0, 10-4, 2-1, and 10-6.   In a Super League match ERZURUM GENÇLİK SPOR beat ISTANBUL 15-2.

In the Black Sea Cup U14 Tournament Ankara opened up the Black Sea Cup with a 2-1 over Erzurum. Ankara club finished in first place in the qualifing round with a record of 4-0, Erzurum finished second place. In the Championship match Erzurm won the game 3-2 to win the Black Sea Cup.

I think the Black Sea Cup Tourney was a big success, "Said McAdams", We had good crowds for senior and youth games. I believe the future of the Black Sea League is good. The experience was great for GENÇLİK SPOR senior players, we were able to play some of our younger players. It was a great experience for Ankara, Koceli, Istanbul and Erzurum to play international games.

Both the Georgian Senior Club and U14 team played well. "Said Erzurum Coach Keith McAdams", We received very positive feedback from the fans, U14 teams of Ankara, Erzurum, Istanbul and Koceli.

Georgia National Team defeated  Genclik Spor Club 2-1.  Georgia National Team Scored on a penalty shot and a power play goal with 2:33 seconds left in 3rd period. 

Muhammed Kalkan scored the only goal for Genclik Spor Club @ 11:11 of the third period. This was  Muhammed 2nd goal of the Toruney .

Muhammet Karagül had 34 saves in the game. Muhammet Karagül is 15 years old and member of Turkish National Team.

"The positive in tonight game was play of Muhammet Karagül, he came up with some big saves and showed the maturity of veteran goalie, " Said Keith McAdams, coach for GENÇLİK SPOR CLUB. " I am very disappointed with the performance of our five older players (All under 21 years old). They played great for 2 games, but today, they showed no leadership and played without intensity. I will not tolerate this kind of performance. The younger guys all worked hard and did their jobs. But the older guys gave less than best effort. If the older guys will not give a consistent effort, I will not play them again! I can not overemphasis how angry I am with their effort and team work. Tonight three players lost their jobs, I will play the line of  Furkan Örnek Ömer Kars and Soner Özmen, who are 15 years old.  These young guys give the team 100% every shift and every practice. Less than 100% effort will not be tolerated on this club."

                          Sefa Kavaz 15 Years Old Has 7 Goals in Tourney

 Genclik Spor Club defeated Georgia National Team 10-7. The line of  SeFa TaKa, Kadir Inan and  Sefa Kavaz  had another great game. The Junior players where plus six in the match. Sefa Kravaz 15 years old had hat trick and Kadir Inan scored two goals. SeFa TaKa, and Kadir Inan and Sefa Kavaz each had 5 points on the night.  Huseyin Seçer 15 years old defender scored two goals in the game. Huseyin has 3 goals in the Tourney.

"Ahmet Karaman, Burak Polat and Abdulkerim Çintimar had their second consecutive strong game ," Said Keith McAdams, coach for GENÇLİK SPOR CLUB." I am very happy with the work ethic of the line and specifically the discipline Abdulkerim Çintimar displayed in the game."

Alparslan Bakanoğlu scored a goal with 2 minutes left in the game. Özcan Alparslan and Yusuf Erden assisted on the goal. 

Tolga Bayburtlu made 32 saves in the game.

"The Georgia National Team is older, bigger and stronger than us, " Said Keith McAdams, coach for GENÇLİK SPOR CLUB. " They have 5 quality players that our club is struggling to contain. I think our younger players are adapting and learning how to play the body. It was good to see all the players taking the body today."

Huseyin Seçer 15 year Old Defender - TBHF National Development Camp

 Georgia National Team defeated Genclik Spor Club 6-3 tonight.  Georgia scored three goals in the first period to take commanding 3 goal lead. The line of  SeFa TaKa, Kadir Inan and  Sefa Kavaz  had another great game. Sefa Taka scored his 4 goal of the tourney at 14: 15 into the second period. There line score and second goal in the game 10:12 of third period. The goal was score involving all three players on a cycle, cross and tip in front. Huseyin Seçer scored on the deflection.

Alparslan Bakanoğlu scored a goal with 6 minutes left in the game. Özcan Alparslan and Yusuf Erden assisted on the goal. Tolga Bayburtlu made 36 saves in the game.

"The Georgia National Team dominated the game on the boards today, " Said Keith McAdams, coach for GENÇLİK SPOR CLUB. "We had a hard time containing their first line. We need to do a better job playing the body on defense. It was a bit frustrating today, but we need to play the younger guys in all situations to develop them. The Georgia National Team has a couple of players who our younger guys are just not physically strong enough to stop them."

Genclik Spor Club  Alparslan Bakanoğlu scored the game winning goals :45 seconds left in the third period. Emre Faner  and Yakup Arslan,  assisted on the game winning goal. SeFa TaKa scored is 3rd goal of the Tourney at the 14:00 minute mark of the second period.  Kadir Inan and Sefa Kavaz assisted on the goal. Genclik Spor  Şamil Koç scored from a slot on a nice give and go play at 8:00 minutes into 3rd period. Furkan Örnek and  Soner Özmen assisted on the play.  Tolga Bayburtlu shut out  the Georgia team for 30 minutes. Muhammet Karagül allowed two goals against in match.. 

"I was a little disappointed in the club today, " Said Keith McAdams, coach for GENÇLİK SPOR CLUB. "We have to learn to play with intensity through the entire game. Tonight we stopped skating for two minutes and Georgia National Team scored two quick goals. This is the 3rd time we need to score goal in last minute of the game."

Genclik Spor Club Furkan Örnek scored the game winning goals 14:15 into the first period. Ömer Kars and Soner Özmen,  assisted on the goal. SeFa TaKa scored the insurance goal at the 11:00 minute mark of the final period.  Kadir Inan and Sefa Kavaz assisted on the goal. Genclik Spor Club out shot  Georgia National Team 46-10.  Tolga Bayburtlu recorded his second shut out of the Tournament.

"We have to be very happy with the our younger players. They are starting to play really well when we do not have the puck. All our guys played great tonight."

Genclik Spor Club Sefa Kavaz scored the tying  goals with 1: 15 seconds left in the game.  Fatih Emin Faner and Yusuf Erden  assisted on the goal. "The Georgia team played 3-2 trap. Our younger guys are having hard time beating the trap, " Said Keith McAdams, coach for GENÇLİK SPOR CLUB. "We out played Georgia today, but unfortunately our goaltender let in 3 soft goals. Their goaltender for Georgia has played outstanding for second straight game. I am confident our players will adjust tomorrow to the trap and play better."

We had 11 players from U15 playing in tonight's game, "Said Keith McAdams". We have the 6 best U18 defenders in Turkey in the line up. The GIHF is a pleasure to work with and first class organization. I am sure the program is benefiting both of us.
